Captured in delicate embroidery, this flat zippertop pouch features a "hanabishi" motif taken from a black kimono. This pattern consists of four petals in a diamond shape. Since the Heian period (794-1185), only a few people were allowed to wear clothing with the hanabishi pattern as it represented nobility and refinement.
